Nevada Multisport club hosts fun run

The first annual Nevada Multisport Club 5K, 10K and Fun run/walk, which was held Saturday, Oct. 3, went off without a hitch and achieved its goals.
First, nearly 80 participants came out Saturday morning to be active and get moving. Second, thanks to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers, the club was able to donate all the proceeds to the YMCA strong kids campaign.
The Nevada Multisport club would like to give everyone a hand who participated in the event and remind them that no matter their finish time, they won for being committed enough to do the hard work it takes to complete a road race event.
They would also like to thank First National Bank, Cottey, Haggans Realty and Nevada Regional Medical Center for being financial sponsors, as well as Bill Foster State farm Insurance, Evans Drug, 3M, McDonald's, Sonic, Curves, Wood's, Wal-Mart, and Missouri Eagle Distributing for their product donations.
They would also like to acknowledge the Nevada High School Cross country team and Renaissance club for volunteering at the event.
Awards were given to 10K overall male and female and overall masters male and female winners with Kevin McCullough and Erika Gravely taking home the overall awards and William Askew and Anne-Marie Molina each claiming their respective masters top spots. In the 5K, Marc Mason won the overall male award and Taylor McCoy won the overall female category.

Club members say, "Keep an eye out for the 2010 event and come out to join in on the fun. If you need a goal to keep you moving, join the Nevada Multisport club as we begin to make our plans for 2010."
