Halloween Classic tournament results
NEVADA, Mo. -- The Halloween Classic golf tournament was held at the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course on Saturday, Oct. 24.
The tournament was played in a two-person scramble format and participants were divided into three flights. The top three places in each flight received awards.
In the Championship Flight, Tim and Tyler Judd, Nevada, took first place with a final score of 66. Second place went to Bill Curry and Brian Black, Joplin, Mo., who also finished at 66 and Mike Murphy and Tracy Smith, Pittsburg, Kan., took third with a combined score of 69.
In the A Flight, Bruce Swank and Karen Curran, Fort Scott, took the victory with an overall score of 73 while Mike McCarter and Jim Owen, Nevada, took second, also finishing at 73. Gary Majors and Vic Wolf, Nevada, were right on the heels of the top two teams as they took third with an overall score of 74.
The B Flight was the closest of the tournament overall, as all three of the top finishers posted the same score. Richard Johnson, Nevada, and Jo Poyzer, El Dorado Springs, Mo., took the top spot while Shirold Moore and Randy Shumaker, Nevada, took second and Bill Hardin and Lyndon Greenlee, Nevada, took the third spot.
The closest to the pin award went to Tyler Judd on hole No. 7 and Len Zogleman on No.11. Bob Young made the longest putt of the tournament on the 18th and final hole.
