Ruth Allene Peckman

Ruth Allene Peckman, 79, Milo, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 21, 1930, in Carthage, Mo., to Glen A. Lindenman and Ruth Mildred Grundy Lindenman. She married Richard W. Peckman on June 16, 1949, in Bentonville, Ark., and he survives of the home.

Allene was raised in the Milo area. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1948. She worked at Nelly Don for many years and later for the Nevada State Hospital until her retirement. Allene was a member of the BPW, Democratic Women's Committee, and a former member of the ILGWU. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Nevada.

Survivors in addition to her husband Richard of the home, include three children, Richard L. Peckman and his wife Connie, Nevada, Ronald L. Peckman and his wife Shirley, Richards, and Micky M. Peckman and his wife Robin, Iantha, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Michelle Williams, Corey Peckman, Andy Peckman, Courtney Peckman, Meagan Peckman, Kelsay Peckman, Tylan Peckman, and Jordan Peckman; two great-grandchildren, Arik Williams and Haylee Williams; and one brother, G. A. Lindenman and his wife Jeannie, Springfield, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marietta Pullen.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Dr. William Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Milo Cemetery. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 5-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home.
