Nominees sought for Missouri Family Physician of the Year
The Missouri Academy of Family Physicians is now seeking nominations for the prestigious award, Missouri Family Physician of the Year.
Nominations may be made by the public, as well as by physicians. Nominees should be in practice at least five years. Additional criteria for the award and a nomination form are available on the Academy's Web site at www.mo-afp.org or can be requested by calling (573) 635-0830 or e-mailing atuma@mo-afp.org .
The deadline for nominations is March 15. Nominations may be mailed to MAFP at 722 West High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101 or faxed to the number provided on the nomination form. The winner will be honored June 12th during MAFP's annual meeting banquet at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Founded in 1947, the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians is a non-profit professional medical association of more than 1,700 physicians, residents and medical students across the state. MAFP is dedicated to optimizing the health of patients, families, and communities of Missouri through patient care, advocacy, education, and research. Its headquarters is in Jefferson City.
The MAFP is a constituent chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the largest medical specialty society in the United States, representing more than 94,000 family physicians nationwide. The AAFP is headquartered in Leawood, Kan.
