ANDERSON, Mo. -- The Nevada Middle School seventh and eighth grade basketball teams came home with mixed results from their first road trip of the year as they took on McDonald County Middle School Thursday night.

The seventh grade B team got the night off to a promising start for Nevada, coming back from a 12-5 halftime deficit to win by a final score of 21-13. Brian Nelson led the offensive effort with nine points.

The A game didn't go quite as well for the Tigers as they dropped a tough contest by a final score of 34-30. Tristan Smith and Taylor Manes were the only players to score as they finished with 19 and 11 points, respectively.

Both the eighth grade A and B teams had a successful night as the B team took a 30-20 win, led by Bryant McKinley with 14 points. The A game was much more one-sided as the Tigers rolled to a 53-23 win, led by Grant Wolfe with 17 points.

Both teams were scheduled to head back out on the road to take on Joplin South, but those results were not available at press time.
