Fort Scott Homecoming postponed
Naturally, every single game that was to be held on the Kansas side of the state line involving area teams was postponed Friday afternoon. The storm passing through even put off two events that were to be held Saturday.
Homecoming at Fort Scott High School, with Pittsburg as the opponent for the basketball doubleheader, has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 4. However, the Homecoming festivities, including the crowning, the dance and the Physics Club chili feed fundraiser, will take place the following night when Fort Scott hosts Independence.
The next scheduled game for the Tigers is Tuesday night against Labette County High School at Harrison Gymnasium in Altamont.
Fort Scott High School's junior varsity wrestling tournament, scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled.
Jayhawk-Linn's Courtwarming games with Central Heights scheduled for Friday have been pushed back to Monday, Feb. 18. The next games for the Jayhawks are Pioneer League make-up games with Osawatomie Monday night at Mound City. Tuesday night, they'll play regularly-scheduled games at Wellsville.
Pleasanton's home games with Marmaton Valley scheduled for Friday night will be made up Monday, Feb. 11. The Blu-Jays were also to host a make-up doubleheader with Chetopa Saturday. Those games have been postponed as well with no make-up date set at press time.
Every other game scheduled in the Southeast Kansas, Three Rivers and Pioneer leagues were postponed. Chanute has also already canceled its annual home varsity wrestling tournament scheduled for Saturday.
