Carl Junction 78, Kansas City Northeast 17

After the Lady Vikings scored the game's first basket, the Carl Junction Lady Bulldogs finished out the opening period on a 34-0 run to take control in girls' consolation bracket action in the Nevada Classic tournament Wednesday night. The Lady Bulldogs maintained control throughout the rest of the contest and cruised their way to a 78-17 victory.

Senior Lauren McRae led the offensive effort for Carl Junction with 19 points as she finished as one of four Lady Bulldogs in double figures. Joining McRae in double figures were Mackenzie Valenti with 17 and Jaime Dunaway and Ashton Holland with 11.

With that win, the Lady Bulldogs will now move on to face either Lamar or Joplin in the tournament's fifth place game on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m., at Wynn Gymnasium.

Raymore-Peculiar 51, Carthage 47

The Lady Panthers of Raymore-Peculiar came into Wednesday night's make-up game of the Nevada Classic tournament with just four wins to their credit in 24 games, but were still able to mount a late-game comeback to defeat Carthage by a final score of 51-47.

Symone Davenport led the offensive effort for the Lady Panthers with 12 points, while Robranique McGowin and Paige Peterson both followed closely with 11 points apiece. For Carthage, Kaylee Morgan led the offensive effort with 13 points in the loss.

The Lady Panthers are now set to move into the tournament championship on Saturday, at 5 p.m., when they take on Stockton inside Wynn Gymnasium. With the loss, Carthage drops to the third place game at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, to take on the Lady Tigers of Nevada.
