Show choirs compete at Troy Buchanan Invitational

Why isn't there also a picture of the Treble Effects? They placed at the competition and deserve to be recognized. This is a pretty big misstep for a program that claims the two choirs are equal, but it's nothing new.

The individual who submitted the photo did not submit a photo of the Treble Effects. We'd love to have more photos of both groups, though!

I'm a current member of Soundsational Singers, and former member of Treble Effects. Like the post above me states the photo was submitted by a grandparent and wasn't purposely placed to disregard Treble Effects. I am personally offended by the fact you believe 'it's a pretty big misstep for the program.' If you want a picture of Treble Effects in the paper, submit it yourself. You can't complain simply because someone chose to take an action and submit a photo and you chose not to. I'm tired of people complaining claiming 'Treble Effects aren't treated equal to Soundsational Singers.' Plain and simple, younger students are placed in Treble Effects to gain show choir experience. Until the director feels that their experience would better help Soundsational Singers. Even in some cases some students are placed in Treble Effects for leadership ability and how they are able to guide new members. I spendt two years in Treble Effects and I am so happy that it happened like that. I gained confidence and leadership ability not only in show choir but in the real world. Not to mention he places people according to the tone and blending ability that he picked for each choir's theme. Bottom line, you can't stick someone with no experience in something and expect them to be successful. It all tends to be a balance thing. For the record, the program that includes both choirs is a great one. If it was truly unequal Treble Effects wouldn't get the treatment to condition them to become as successful as they are this year. Also, the program that made a huge misstep hires two of the most recognized choreographers in the Midwest if not the country to choreograph both choirs.
