Bernice Martha Heiman Griggs

Bernice Martha Heiman Griggs was born in Montrose, Mo., on Jan. 13, 1926. She passed away on Feb. 24, 2010. She was married to Howard K. Griggs on June 23, 1947, and to this union they had seven children.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard K. Griggs; infant daughter, Linda Lucille Griggs; two sisters, Rita Heiman Gibbons, and Evelyn Heiman Brownsbarger; and one brother, James Heiman.

Survivors include: six children, Carolyn Sue Griggs Mock, of Nevada, Dean Griggs, of Bolivar, Donna Griggs Spangler, of Stockton, Helen Griggs Pyle, of Stockton, Gene Griggs, of Stockton, Bob Griggs, of Dunnegan; one sister, Beatrice Heiman Page, of Butler; four brothers, Ted Heiman, of Wichita, Kan., Harold Heiman, of Kansas City, Jerome Heiman, of Holder, and Charles Heiman, of Rockville. She was blessed with 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Stockton, with burial in Alder Cemetery under the direction of Brumback Funeral Home.
