Bold new magazine, 'Ageless,' to make its debut in April
In April, a bold, new publication is coming to southwest Missouri and southeast Kansas. It's a magazine filled with features, informative articles, puzzles and more.
"Ageless" is a magazine for people who have experienced life long enough to know they want more. It's about the vibrant, health-conscious, self assured generation its readers have become. It's about a generation living life to its fullest. It's about today and tomorrow, plus a little bit of yesterday and what we learned from the past carefully added to make those todays and tomorrows all the richer.
Specifically geared to meet the needs and interests of active people age 50 and older, the new, full-color, glossy magazine will have a regional focus and distribution and "we're sure readers of just about any age will love it. It'll be fun and useful, and different from anything we've done in the past," said "Ageless" editor Lynn A. Wade.
"People are doing all sorts of things at age 50 and older. They're carrying on their careers, or they're starting new ones. They're finding new ways to contribute and they're hoping to make the world a little bit better than it was when they came into it. They're going on grand adventures, making their mark on history, and having a great time doing it. People all over the Midwest are living agelessly, more and more, and we believe it's past time we celebrated that. That's why we're putting this publication together, and once readers have seen the first one, I hope they'll let us know even more about how our hometown friends are living more and aging less," Wade said.
The first issue will be packed with stories featuring people from Fort Scott, Pittsburg, Nevada, and Stockton, to name a few, and those stories are sure to surprise and entertain. "It's going to be published quarterly with issues focusing on what's fun and what's fundamental for folks over 50," Wade said. As the publication evolves, there will be opportunities for reader participation as well.
Publisher Julie Righter said "Ageless" will be distributed in an area even broader than that of She, a popular magazine for women. The 5,000 copies of "Ageless" planned serve an area along the U.S. Highway 71 corridor, with distribution points as far south as Carthage and Joplin and north into Cass County in Missouri; as well as along the U.S. 69 corridor, reaching such areas as Pittsburg, Iola and other areas of Crawford, Bourbon and Linn counties in Kansas. Of course, it also will be available in racks throughout the Fort Scott and Nevada areas.
To get the publication off to a running start, there's good news for advertisers, too. A golf directory and a feature on local senior golfers offers a special opportunity for those who love the sport and those with tournaments or events coming up to get the word out.
"Ageless" Advertising Director Lorie Harter said, "We're offering the most awesome special you ever saw," for advertisers who sign up for all four issues for the first year. It's a one-time only 25-percent price break that can't be beat.
