Hazel Margaret Crawford
Hazel Margaret Crawford, 97, Nevada, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Moore-Few Care Center following an illness of several weeks. She was born July 2, 1912 in Marceline, Mo., to Arthur Franklin Todd and Willie Margaret Gandy Todd. She was married May 26, 1934, in Marceline to Dean I. Crawford and he preceded her in death in 1975.
Hazel was born and reared in Marceline, Mo., but spent virtually her entire adult lifetime in Vernon County, Mo. She was primarily a homemaker. Mrs. Crawford was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Domestic Science Club, MSWC, the Sunday Nighters and Presbyterian Women all in Nevada.
Survivors include three grandsons, Todd, Bryan, and Blair; three nieces, Connie Todd, Nevada, Linda Himes, Kirksville, Mo., and Laura Todd, Lubbock, Texas; three nephews, John Thompson, Kansas City, Kan., Gary Thompson, and Roger Thompson, both of Springfield, Mo.; several great-grandchildren and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by one son, D.A. Crawford, in 1984, six brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, March 17, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with the Rev. Greg Ferree officiating. Friends may call now and until 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday between 7 and 8 p.m.
