June Maxine Hunt
June Maxine Hunt, 83, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the Christian Health Care of Nevada nursing home in Nevada. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 27, at the Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs, Mo. Interment in the Blue Springs Cemetery, Blue Springs. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., preceding the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Plaza Height Baptist Church, 1500 Southwest Clark Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015.
June Maxine (Root) Hunt was born April 10, 1926, in Kansas City, Kan., to Charles G. and Grace (Rutherford) Root. On April 8, 1944, June married the love of her life, James Lee Hunt. She liked to visit and play cards with her friends at Vesper Hall in Blue Springs, Mo., and was a member of the Plaza Heights Baptist Church in Blue Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Grace and her loving husband of 52 years, James Lee Hunt; four brothers, Johnnie Root, Ted Root, Wilbur Root, and Arlie Byrd; one sister, Venita O'Connell; and one great-granddaughter; Jessie Brooker.
Her survivors include two sons; Chaplain Carl Hunt and his wife Alicia of Oak Grove, Mo., and Raymond Hunt and his wife Peggy of Nevada; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
