Shorts and T-shirts needed by Red Cross
As the Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross office moves into their summer Disaster Relief operation, they would like the public to know they are in need of new shorts and T-shirts (no used clothing please) to replace their clothing packs that are given out to victims of disasters in the 29 counties the chapter serves.
Often, people who have experienced a devastating loss as the result of a fire, flood or tornado, are left only with the clothes they had on at the time of the disaster. When Disaster Action Team volunteers meet with these individuals, they assess their basic emergency needs and if necessary, give them a clothing pack.
The supply is low at this time and all sizes ranging from small to XX large are needed. These items may be dropped off at the Greater Ozarks Chapter offices of the Red Cross in Springfield, West Plains, Nevada, Joplin and Lebanon. For more information, contact Peggy Tedlock at the local American Red Cross in Nevada at (417)667-5563 or Joann Moore, public relations at the Springfield office, (866) 206-0256.
