Harry Glenn Vann
Harry Glenn Vann, age 67, Fort Scott, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 8, 2010, in the Mercy Health Center Emergency Room. He was born Oct. 11, 1942, in Fort Scott, the son of Harry Vann and Virginia Harris Vann. Glenn married Linda Harris on Aug. 29, 1974, in Miami, Okla. He was retired as a press operator following 30 years of employment with 3M Company in Nevada. He attended the Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ. His hobbies included bowling and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Linda, of the home; three sons, Monty Vann, Atlantic, Ga., Gregory Vann, Fort Scott, and Jonathan Vann and wife Rochelle, Marshfield, Wis.; three daughters, Donna Vann Davis, Topeka, Kan., Brenda Sik and husband Marino, Murrieta, Calif., and Linda Lester and husband Jon, Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Russell Vann and wife Carolyn, and Charles Vann, all of Fort Scott; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Rev. Roger Harris and Elder John T. Owens will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Friday, May 14, in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to a Glenn Vann Memorial Fund and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
