Waste water treatment plant manager Roger Beach, left, tells members of the Nevada City Council about the differences between the old treatment plant and the new plant, that is currently expected to be completed within 110 working days.
Joe Charles, public works director, said that the 110 days includes building a new access road, as well as, landscaping and other finishing touches, adding that they expect the plant to be in operation before all that work is completed.
"This is one of the most state-of-the-art plants in the country," Beach told the council,"It should run for years into the future." The plant is not only state-of-the-art, it is also built from long-lasting materials and is designed to be upgradeable.
