Lighting strikes again: Runyan scores hole-in-one
Herald-Tribune
A hole-in-one is one of the rarest feats in golf. Just this past week, Eric Barwick scored a hole in one on the eighth hole at the Nevada Country Club Golf Course. Sometimes lighting strikes again at the same place. Just like lighting, another local golfer scored a hole in one on the same hole just three days later.
Janice Runyan, of Nevada, was playing with her partner, Kristen Richmond, in the regular Thursday evening Ladies Golf League at NCC. She hit her tee shot from the Ladies' tee box, which was 139 yards from the green. At first, Runyan thought she must have gone over the green and was not sure where her ball was located. Then, her partner screamed the most famous Caddy Shack words in golf history, "It's in the hole!"
As all golfers will tell you, a mandatory celebration always follows a hole-in-one. We are sure the Ladies Golf Association had great fun toasting this rare accomplishment. This was Runyan's first hole-in-one after many years of golfing.
