Conservation Department hosts archery workshop

JOPLIN, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Conservation is scheduled to host the Discovery Nature Families Introduction to Archery workshop.

The workshop is scheduled to be held at the Walter Woods Conservation Area just south of Joplin, Mo., on Tuesday, July 20. The program will be open to the public and the workshop will take place from 6-8 p.m.

On the agenda will be lessons on the basics of archery. This free program is designed for families to learn together the fundamentals of archery, including safety, parts of the bow, types of bows, stances and techniques to keep archers on target.

The program is open to all interested adults and children ages 7 and older. Registration will be required to attend the workshop and can be done by contacting the Joplin Conservation Office.
