Mary Frances Massions

Mary Frances Massions, 66, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at her home in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Wichita, Kan., to Kenneth Ryan and Byrdie Katherine Castleberry Ryan. She married Dennis M. Massions on July 29, 1966, in Wichita, and he survives of the home.

Mary grew up in Haysville, Kan. She was a member of the first graduating class from Campus High School in Haysville, in 1962. Mary lived and worked in the Wichita area all her life. She worked as a telephone operator for the Wichita Wings Professional Indoor Soccer Team. She was also an active volunteer at her children's schools for many years. Following retirement, she and her husband came to Nevada in 2001.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Dennis, include five children, Denise Lamberson, Angela Massions, and Ginger Wolenhaupt all of Wichita, Melissa Ransom, Nevada, and Michael Massions, Wichita; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Ryan, Mulberry, Kan., and Sheila Sprankle and her husband Tom, Wichita; two brothers, Kenneth W. Ryan and his wife Mildred, and Kim Ryan and his wife Patty, all of Mulberry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nevada, with the Rev. Justin Hoye officiating. Interment will follow at the Massions Family Cemetery.

A rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with visitation following from 7-8 p.m.
