Mary Ann Barley
Mary Ann (Budd) Barley, 89, of Bedford, Texas, passed away Aug. 21, 2010. Mary Ann was born April 2, 1921, in Chanute, Kan., to William LaVerne and Marcella (Flannery) Budd. She was united in marriage to John Nichols Barley, in Chanute, on Dec. 27, 1944.
She is survived by her husband, Col. John N. Barley, USAF (ret); three children, Mary Lee Graham and husband, John, of Manhattan, Kan., Stephen W. Barley and wife, Shaun, of Southlake, Texas, and Elizabeth Ann May and husband, Tad, of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Jeff Graham, Patrick Barley, Nichols Graham, Ashley Barley Cunningham, Collin May, and Lex May; and eight great-grandchildren; also surviving are two brothers, Earl Budd, Harrisonburg, Va., and Bernie Budd, Sevierville, Tenn. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bill and Merle.
The Rev. Darrin May will conduct graveside services at 12:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30, at the U.S. National Cemetery, Fort Scott, under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the SPCA of Dallas, Texas, or the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tenn. Memorials may be left c/o the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall St., P.O.
