NHS volleyball team to hold Dig Pink game for breast cancer
Dear Editor:
On Thursday, Sept. 30, two area schools will join together for the first annual Dig Pink volleyball benefit for cancer research.
The Nevada High School Lady Tigers and El Dorado Springs Bulldogs will meet at Wynn Gymnasium in Nevada, beginning at 6 p.m. with the junior varsity game, followed by the varsity game. During this time, there will be a silent auction with items donated from the community. There will also be lots of games, raffles, and door prizes.
A loved one can be memorialized or honored on a volleyball sign displayed at Nevada High School with a $1.00 donation. Names will be placed on pink volleyballs to represent breast cancer. All other cancer recognitions can be placed on a white volleyball. The proceeds will go directly to the Vernon County Cancer Relief Fund.
All proceeds from the night will benefit breast cancer and general cancer research. If you cannot be in attendance that evening, but would like to show your support, please visit the volleyball page on the Nevada High School Web site to make a contribution.
Please come out and support these two local schools in their fund-raising quest for cancer research. Help win the battle against cancer by supporting the Dig Pink Foundation and their efforts to find a cure.
