Barton competes in national softball tournament
Wednesday, September 29, 2010
Wendy Barton played for George Page Photography out of Nashville in the Softball Players Association's National 40-and-over Championships Sept. 18 and 19. Playing shortstop, she went 11-for-15 at the plate, was hit in the head while sliding to second and received six staples to her forehead from a knuckling line drive later the same day. The team finished 5-1, winning the tournament and a chance to play in the World Championship tournament next April. She received All-American and tournament MVP honors despite missing part of a game due to the trip to the hospital.
