Action student begins service project

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Senior Action student Emma Chrisenbery is again doing a service project for the homeless. She will be collecting a variety of items over a span of two and a half months and donating the items to the Nevada Housing Authority.

Chrisenbery is a student in the Nevada High School's gifted and talented program and will begin accepting items on Oct. 1. The last day to drop off items is Dec. 10, 2010. All donated items can be dropped off at the Nevada High School office or at Room 110c, the room of teacher Tina Sudkamp.

The items Chrisenbery is asking for will be donated to the homeless or used for emergency situation relief for members of the community. The lists includes basic items most take for granted; things such as: soap, shampoo, towels, washcloths, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, chapstick, bug spray, sun screen, nail clippers, gloves, jackets, post its, writing tablets, pencils and pens, flashlights and batteries, canned foods and similar items will all be taken and used to make someone's life easier.

For more information contact: Tina Sudkamp at the Nevada High School at (417) 448-2020 ext. 5028 or e-mail Sudkamp at tsudkamp@nevada.k12.mo.us
