Residents ordered to vacate home on Ash Street

According to information provided by the city of Nevada, the residents of this house at 323 N. Ash Street were ordered on Monday to vacate the house within 72 hours after the building inspector, while conducting a routine inspection found serious deficiencies that endangered the occupants. After a complete report on the building was made, in compliance with the city's dangerous building code, the building inspector and the code administrator reviewed the report and then toured the structure. The code administrator then issued an emergency order to vacate the structure. According to the city information, the tenants were served the order to vacate on Monday and the city staff contacted the Missouri Division of Family Services to provide necessary assistance to the residents. The report will be sent to the building owner and to the prosecuting attorney for any further action.
