Local residents chosen as State Fair Farm Family for Vernon County

Wayne and Pauline Jeans and family of Richards were among the 106 families honored during the Missouri State Fair's Farm Family Day, Aug. 16. The Jeanses were selected as the Vernon County Missouri State Fair Farm Family by the Vernon County Extension Council and local Farm Bureau. The family includes Wayne, Pauline, Zach and Chelsey. Each year the fair sets aside a day to recognize farm families from across the state who are active in their community, involved in agricultural activities and who participate in local outreach and extension educational programs such as 4-H and FFA. The Jeans family has been very active in 4-H in Vernon County for several years.

The annual event was sponsored by Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri Department of Agriculture, Missouri State Fair, University of Missouri Extension and the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
