Middle school volleyball sweeps Lamar

The Nevada Middle School seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams completed regular-season play with sweeps of Lamar Tuesday night.

Head coach Trudy Fleeman's eighth graders won at Lamar, 25-7 and 25-12, in the A team match and 25-20 and 25-13 in the B team match. Head coach Marsha Hooper's seventh graders won at Nevada, 25-21 and 25-12 in the A team match to finish the season 9-4, while her B squad won 25-10 and 25-9 to finish 8-1.

Both the seventh and eighth grade squads will now get set to compete in the Tri-County postseason tournament. The eighth grade tournament will be played at Nevada Middle School, while the seventh graders will travel to McDonald County, Monday and Tuesday.
