Citywide cleanup day Oct. 16
The forecast for this weekend's weather is sunny and warm, perfect to get those final outside chores completed before winter arrives and the city of Nevada is planning to help by holding their annual fall cleanup day next Saturday, Oct. 16 from 8 a.m. to noon.
They will again have dumpsters available at the public works site on South Jefferson where you can get rid of those items that are accepted at landfills. They will also be accepting passenger car and pick-up truck tires and appliances. The easiest way to access this site is to take east Maple to the public works location.
Just south of the trash drop-off on South Jefferson, the compost site will be open and accepting leaves, tree limbs and yard waste. For those who need some compost for the yard, it will be available at no charge. Just bring something to put it in.
The Recycling Center at the intersection of East Locust and Colorado will also be open and accepting electronics as well as the normal recyclable items.
