Lady Hornets defeat NEVC

WALKER, Mo. -- The Lady Hornets of Hume won a Golden Valley/Vernon County Conference match from Northeast Vernon County Tuesday evening, 25-9 and 25-18.

For Hume, Makena Thompson scored nine points, including five aces, and was credited with five kills, six assists and two blocks. Hannah Jacobs scored eight points, including four aces, and was credited with four kills. Daisy Miller scored six points, including five aces and was credited with four kills. Tori Sears had three kills and one block, Haleigh Whitten was credited with four kills, Emily Brooks has three assists and Sara Wikoff had one block.

For NEVC, Taylor Ast had 17 assists while Courtney Greer had 13, Spencer Hoagland had five digs, Payton Hays scored eight kills and three blocks, Crystal Bogardus had five assists and three digs, and Ryann Ford added two blocks.

The Lady Hornets are 7-5 this fall and the Lady Knights will be back in action on Friday against Bronaugh.
