Attic fire causes minor damage to local home

A small fire caused by an electrical short in an attic caused about $2,700 in damage to a home in the 700 block of North Cedar, Nevada, on Monday. According to a report from the Nevada Fire Department, firefighters responded to the home at 6:42 p.m., and saw light smoke coming from the attic area when they arrived. An attic vent was removed, revealing a small fire near an attic fan. The fire was extinguished and steps were taken to prevent the fire from re-igniting. No injuries were reported.
