'Meet Me in Missouri' set for Friday in the Fox Theatre
"Meet Me in Missouri," music by and for Missourians, will be presented by the Missouri Singers, Nov. 6 and Nov. 7, at the Fox Theatre in Nevada in support of the Smithsonian exhibition "New Harmonies: American Roots Music" now at the Bushwhacker Museum. Done in vaudeville fashion, the music with a "Missourah" tie-in has been written by a Missourian, published in Missouri, has a Missouri theme or been made famous by a Missourian, according to director and accompanist Marsha Martin. The event will showcase gospel, shape note, folk, country, blues, ragtime, ballads, patriotic and popular. Programs are at 7 p.m. Nov. 6; and 2 p.m., Nov. 7. Open to the public.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.
