Vernon Countians salute veterans

Above, veterans, family members and friends gathered at the annual Veterans Day ceremony. The ceremony was moved from the Veterans Memorial on the Vernon County Courthouse lawn because of the weather.

"Today is a day of remembrance," Mo. Rep. Barney Fisher, told a group gathered at the Nevada American Legion post Thursday afternoon.
He said that people should remember everyone who served, not just the "trigger pullers" who most think about. The warehouse worker, the cooks, the medical corpsman, the doctors, the truck drives are just as important as the 'trigger pullers,"
"Service is service, as long as it is honorable," he said,
