Soup available at Community Outreach

Vernon County Sheriff Ron Peckman checks a bag to make sure it is still frozen before unloading 30 gallons of chicken noodle soup at Community Outreach on Thursday, Dec. 16. Peckman and deputies delivered and helped distribute 30 gallons of vegetable soup last week and have plans to give 30 gallons of ham and beans to Community Outreach on Thursday, Dec. 23. The soups "are good, healthy and nutritious," said Peckman. They have been prepared by staff and trustees at the Vernon County jail and are possible, in part, because of a large monetary donation by the Ministerial Alliance and donations of ingredients from other community members and organizations. Jail administrator Mike Buehler helped out last week and said, "We were really pleased with the turn out last week."
