Dorothy Mae Schulze
Dorothy Mae Schulze, 66, Nevada, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Mo., following a lengthy illness. She was born June 21, 1944, in Mulberry, Kan., to Fred W. Prettyman and Annabelle Portwood Prettyman. She was married Sept. 2, 1961, in Arcadia, Kan., to David E. Schulze, and he preceded her in death Aug. 29, 2010.
Mrs. Schulze was born and raised in this area and spent most of her life here. She graduated from Arcadia, Kan., High School. Dorothy worked for 33 years as a sales clerk at Ramey's supermarket in Nevada.
Survivors include five sons, Charles Schulze and his wife, Donna, Bronaugh, Mo., Ron Schulze and his wife, Ranea, Rick Schulze, Scott Schulze and his wife, Kerri, all of Nevada, and Kerry Schulze and his wife, Camie, Moundville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Shari Schulze, Mark Schulze, Christopher Schulze, Kyle Schulze, Cory Schulze, Jodie Schulze, Juston Schulze and his wife, Tori, Kelsey Shulze, Carly Schulze and Kelsie Gulliford; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Prettyman, Nevada, and Robert Prettyman, Arcadia, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; one granddaughter, Krista Elise Schulze; and one sister, Judy Cannon.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with David Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Cemetery in Nevada.
