NRMC awarded accreditation from the Joint Commission
By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for healthcare quality and safety, Nevada Regional Medical Center has earned the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval.
"We sought accreditation for our organization because we want to demonstrate our commitment to our patients," says Holly Bush, performance improvement administrative officer. "We believe that this helps strengthen our community confidence and the quality and safety of our care."
The Joint Commission conducted an unannounced, on-site evaluation of NRMC Nov. 3-6 to audit the actual delivery of critical services. An engineer also inspected the building. Nevada Regional Medical Center Home Health and all off-site clinics also were included in the survey including the NowCare Clinic and Rich Hill and Sheldon Family Medical Clinics and Orthopedic Specialty Services. The Joint Commission found minor improvements necessary for some signage and medical record-keeping procedures. NRMC then had a window of up to 60 days to correct any issues.
Founded in 1951, the Joint Commission seeks to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of healthcare organizations. The accreditation award recognizes NRMC's dedication to complying with the Joint Commission's state-of-the-art standards.
"We want to make sure our patients are safe. Our goal is to ensure that our care is as good as possible and I'm proud to say our clinical staff did not receive any requirements for improvement," Bush said.
The accreditation validates the continuous efforts made by NRMC to deliver safe and quality care to its patients. A list of the hospital's accreditation scores is located online at www.qualitycheck.org.
