City to unveil 2011 comprehensive plan

The city of Nevada will hold an open house at the Franklin P. Norman City/County Community Center, 200 N. Ash, to give Nevada residents an opportunity to see and to comment on the draft of the 2011 Nevada Master Plan, between 5:30 and 7:30 tonight.

Representatives from Smith, Klein and Warren, the consulting firm hired by the city to prepare the plan, will be giving identical presentations on the draft plan at 5:45 p.m. and again at 6:45 p.m., and will be available during the entire open house to answer questions and take comments from the public.

This draft of the plan is based on information gathered by the city staff, Smith, Klein and Warren and from three public meetings held during 2010.

a $76,000 boondoggle scraped together by out-of-town professionals whose job is, succinctly, to justify its own creation. does this make sense? there are folks here in Nevada, yes, our very own citizens, who have the exact same college education and professional background who could have crafted a new comprehensive plan with input from our town's key constituents, including the taxpayers, business owners, property owners, civic-professional-social-educational-philanthropic groups and organizations, and other viable facets our of community's bedrock, FOR LESS MONEY than was spent with SKW!! AND I'D BET EVERY PENNY I OWN THAT IT'D MAKE MORE SENSE THAN WHAT WILL BE ON VIEW AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER!!

How do you know what it says and that it's not being followed you haven't seen it yet.

so is anyone keeping track of the money going out of Nevada's coffers to outside assistance? so 5 mil to alliance, 76 k to this company, 250 k for a fire truck, buying property at inflated prices. So when does it end, Oh I know once the city is out of money and they are laying off employees.
