Rich Hill basketball tournament begins

In the Rich Hill High School Invitational Monday night, results were mixed for the area schools in attendance.

Hogan Prep's girls defeated Sheldon, 47-33, despite 14 points from Lady Panther Hailey Conner. The Kansas City East boys beat Rich Hill's junior varsity by a final score of 64-28 and Eric Leavell scored 17 points to lead the Sheldon Panthers to a 52-36 win over Heartland. In other tournament action, the Heartland girls defeated Kansas City-East, 47-20.

The tournament is scheduled to get back under way tonight with a girls' game between Rich Hill and Heartland, at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Rich Hill boys' varsity against Heartland, the Sheldon Lady Panthers against Miami-Amoret and the Miami-Amoret boys against the Rich Hill junior varsity.
