Dixie Ann Brooks

Dixie Ann Brooks, 74, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011, at her home. Dixie was born Sept. 27, 1936, in Hume, Mo., the daughter of Russell Herbert and Edith Virgie Henley Brooks. She was a member of First Christian Church of Blue Springs, Mo., retired from Butler Manufacturing Company after 30 and 1/2 years of service.

Survivors include eldest son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Terry Starr, Lee's Summit, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Camille and Kem Murphy, Lake Tapawingo, Mo.; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Veronica Sumner, Aeworth, Ga.; grandchildren, Russell Starr, Kyle Murphy, Sarah Starr, Cody Murphy, Kipp Murphy and Mitchel Sumner; and a great-grandchild, Isaac Starr.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Hume Cemetery in Hume, Mo. Visitation will be 9--10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 29. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., at First Christian Church in Blue Springs, Mo.
