Henry Antonia "Tony" Weber
Henry Antonia "Tony" Weber, 91, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday evening, Feb. 9, 2011, at Christian Healthcare in Nevada, following a brief illness. Tony was born on June 4, 1919, to Ferdinand Weber and Rosa Mary Williams Weber, northwest of Moundville, Mo. He married Della Ruth Hinds on Feb. 7, 1942, in Nevada. She preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2006.
Tony was inducted into the United States Army during World War II on Nov. 11, 1942, serving overseas in the European Theatre of War until November 1945. He was awarded three bronze stars during his service. He was a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and also attended the First Christian Church. He worked for Phillips '66 and Vernon County Oil as a tank wagon driver for more than 50 years, until his retirement in 1987.
Survivors include five sons, Jack Weber, Kearney, Mo., Fred Weber, Galveston, Texas, Ted Weber, Independence, Mo., Mike Weber, Houston, Texas, and Chris Weber, Monett, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Anthony Weber; five brothers; and five sisters.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m., with a short service following at 11 a.m., at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, on Monday, Feb. 14. Interment with military honors will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada.
