MO-KAN All-Star Wrestling set for Monday at Parsons

PARSONS Kan. -- The Second Annual U.S. Army MO-KAN Classic All-Star Senior Wrestling Dual is set to be held at 6:30 Monday night at the Labette Community College gymnasium here.

The Missouri-Kansas border competition will match up 34 wrestlers.

* 112 pounds: Kansas 2011 State champion Colt Skillman (37-1) from Burlington, will go head-to-head with Joplin High senior Brycen Miner (21-6). Miner is a three-time Missouri State qualifier placing fifth in 2010.

* 112 pounds: Devin Graville (35-8) from Reeds Spring, fourth in Missouri this season, will meet Nate Hudson (38-8) of Caney Valley.

* 119 pounds: Jake Gentzler (36-1) of Andover Central, a three-time State champion, faces off with Tanner Schaack (36-20) of Neosho who recently placed sixth at the Missouri Class 5 State tourney.

* 125 pounds: Michael Vander Linden (39-5) of Burlington finished fourth at Kansas Class 3-2-1A State. Ty Balty (27-16) from Logan-Rogersville, Mo., a State qualifier in 2010 and a two-time Central Ozark Conference Champion.

* 130 pounds: Two time Missouri State qualifier, Waynesville's Richie Nedlic (31-17), faces off with Kyle Johnson (33-4) of Columbus. Johnson has placed four times in Kansas State, finishing second in Class 4A three times.

* 130 pounds: Joplin's Brent Eagles (14-6) faces off against Chanute's Tim Wrestler (30-5). Wrestler has placed three times at the Kansas State competition by bringing home one sixth-place honor, one fourth-place finish, and one third-place medal.

* 135 pounds. -- Chanute's Troy Clark (39-10) advanced to the state level three times, taking a third-place medal this year. His opponent is Missouri four-time state medalist, Carter Boatright (48-5) from Neosho, who has a fourth-place finish, a third-place finish, and two championships to his credit.

* 140 pounds: Derby's Bradley Little (38-1), Kansas Class 6A champion this season, will face Lebanon's Aaron Starnes (39-11), a Missouri State runner-up this year.

* 145 pounds Gabriel Asano (33-7) of Waynesville placed sixth in 2010 and won the State championship this year. His opponent will be Columbus' B.T. O'Hara (27-5), who competed two times at the KSHSAA Wrestling Tournament, earning third-place finishes each time.

* 145 pounds: Monett's Ethan Davis (39-0) is four-time Missouri State finalist with three State championships. He will face Augusta's Nick Collins (28-5), a two-time medalist, winning Class 4A this year.

* 152 pounds: Emporia's Chase Sanchez (33-2), placed third in 2009 and 2010, and brought home a Class 6A State championship in 2011. He will face Neosho's Payne Hatter (50-5) who has a Missouri Class 5 third-place (2010) and fifth-place (2011) finish to his credit.

* 160 pounds: Neosho's Chase Espinosa (42-8) took third place at the 2011 Missouri Class 5 State tourney in 2011. Espinosa's Kansas opposer is Jake Hattabaugh (36-2) from Andale, who has competed three times at the Kansas State Tournament, winning State twice.

* 171 pounds: Brandon Delancy (30-5) of Augusta High School is a two-time Kansas State qualifier who will face Zac Schnieder (35-16) from Lebanon. Schnieder was the 2010 Ozark Conference Champ and a Missouri State medalist (sixth) this year.

* 171 pounds: Channing Hosey (31-5) from Labette County High School placed fourth in this year's Kansas Class 4A State Tournament. He will wrestle three time Missouri State champion Blake Stauffer (52-0) from Neosho.

* 189 pounds: Neosho's Dallas Smith (50-2) is a four-time Missouri State qualifier, winning it all this year. Smith's rival for this match-up is Fredonia High School's Thomas Durham (38-11), a three-time Class 3-2-1A State qualifier.

* 215 pounds. -- Thomas Lowe (24-5) of Eureka, Kan., has finished fourth twice at State. His opponent will be Wyatt Byrd (31-15) of Lebanon, who was a 2011 District champion and qualified for Missouri State.

* 285 pounds. -- Riley Plew (45-9) has three trips to the Missouri State Class 5 tournament representing Neosho. He is matched up with Caney Valley's Dakota Denny (43-3). Denny has placed three times at the State level bringing home two-sixth places finishes and a fifth-place medal in 2011.
