Dolphford R. Bain
Dolphford R. Bain, 76, of Kansas City North, went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2011. Dolph was born Jan. 27, 1935, in Rockville, Mo., the son of Boyd H. and Ruby Lucille (Roland) Bain. He retired from Cooper Trucking and was a longtime member of the Teamsters Union. He attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and volunteered in speaking at various venues, especially in prison ministry.
Along with his parents, Dolph was preceded in death by a sister, LaDonna. He has three children with his late first wife of 25 years, Mary Catherine. They are Pamela Morton (Dexter), Donna Jones (Larry) and Cathy Garwood (Ed). He also leaves seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In 2002, Dolph married Carolyn Mautino. He is survived by Carolyn and her children, Marvin Mautino (Lorraine) and Sue DeShon (Mike); five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. He leaves a brother, Dennis Bain (Sandy) and friends, Randy and Chris Zagorach and their children, Dylan and Emily, whom Dolph referred to as his godchildren.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a service celebrating his life at 11 a.m., Friday, March 11, at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at 291 Highway, Liberty. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, at the Rockville Cemetery, Rockville, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
