Extension to host pressure canner gauge testing

Paula Gray, nutrition education assistant with the Vernon County Extension Center, will be testing pressure canner gauges in the office and answering canning questions on Thursday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Only the lids of the canners, with the gauge attached, need to be brought into the office. Those who wish to have gauges tested but are unable to be in the office on this date, may bring the canner lid and gauge in at an earlier date and pick it up at your convenience. Weighted gauges cannot be tested. The testing will take approximately 10 minutes and the cost is $1 per gauge.
