Wanda Lee Toon

Wanda Lee Toon, 47, Nevada, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 10, 2011, following a lengthy illness.

Wanda was born in Kansas City, Mo., on June 30, 1963, and grew up in Kansas City and Macks Creek, Mo. She attended school in Macks Creek, where she met the love of her life, George Edward Selby. They came to Nevada in 1990. She worked as a housekeeper and caretaker for several families in Nevada.

Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Ogle and her husband, William, Nevada; one son, Jess Toon and his fiancé, Krista Purkay, Nevada; four grandchildren, Pearl Daggett, Donald Daggett Jr., Samuel Purkey all of Nevada, and Kimberly Daggett, Tecumseh, Neb.; and one great-grandchild, Aaron Keith Pilcher Jr., Tecumseh, Neb. She is also survived by several brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ressie Pearl Rush; and her companion, George Edward Selby.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, at the funeral home.
