Anna Veda (Dziadula) Rourk

Anna Veda (Dziadula) Rourk, 92, a resident of Presbyterian Village, Fort Scott, Kan., died April 13, 2011, at her home. She enjoyed being cared for by family members, including a very special nephew, Gary Dziadula and his wife, Erma, of Girard, Kan., and the loving staff of both the Fort Scott Presbyterian Village and the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.

Anna was born Jan. 10, 1919, at Camp 50 west of Arma, Kan., to Walter and Mary (Pollock) Dziadula. Anna married Paul E. Rourk on Jan. 29, 1945, in Fort Scott, Kan. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Ann Pitts and husband, Larry, of Bronaugh, Mo., and Karen "Sue" Rourk King and husband, Alan, of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Lillie Ann (Doug) Wingate, Paul (Katie) Pitts, and Tad Alan (Sara) Rourk King; two great-grandchildren, E.J. and J.D. Wingate; several nieces and nephews; and two special sisters-in-law, Carol Rourk of Bronaugh, Mo., and Daisy Dziadula of Pittsburg, Kan.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Raymond Dziadula and Johnnie Dziadula; and one infant sister, Mary Dziadula. Anna was a lifelong resident of the Garland community until retiring to Fort Scott with her husband in 1982. She was a member of the Cherry Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted homemaker and served her community, family and friends with the gift of her hands and her time. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, fishing, cooking, quilting and serving others.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 16, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home with Dr. Joey Pulleyking officiating. Burial will be in Clarksburg Cemetery near Garland, Kan. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cherry Grove Baptist Church or the Presbyterian Village of Fort Scott, and may be left in the care of Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
