Suspect escapes from custody but is arrested the next day
A suspect who escaped from police custody on Wednesday was caught again on Thursday, according to a press release from the Nevada Police Department. On April 13, police conducted an investigation into a disturbance at AmVets located at 903 East Subway in Nevada and arrested Tony D. Pike, 38, of Nevada, for the assault of a bar patron. But while officers were concluding the investigation, Pike managed to escape from police custody and fled the scene.
At the time of his escape, Pike was wearing an orange T-shirt and blue jeans and was handcuffed. An extensive investigation was conducted by police which led to his arrest on April 14.
Pike has been charged in the Circuit Court of Vernon County with one count of assault in the first degree, one count of escape from custody, one count of misdemeanor stealing and one count of armed criminal action.
