Comedian Phil Hanley to perform April 28

Thursday, April 21, 2011

Comedian Phil Hanley will bring some laughs to the end of the semester when he takes the stage in Raney Dining Room on Thursday, April 28, at 8 p.m.

This winner of Vancouver's Funniest Comic in 2007 performs all over North America. Don't let his demeanor (or intense skinniness) fool you -- his style is unpredictably reflective, delivered with sharp accuracy, and rooted in the grand tradition of joke telling. He has been heard and seen on The Tonight Show, The Hollywood Reporter, XM satellite radio, and his own critically acclaimed television special.

Tickets for Phil Hanley are $5 for adults and $4 for those under age 18 or over age 62. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the performance.

Raney Dining Room is in the lower level of Robertson Hall on the southeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada. Parking is available in the lot immediately south which is accessible off of Tower Street.

Another event, an informal dance concert, hosted by the Cottey College Department of Dance is set for Friday, April 29, at 8 p.m. in Hinkhouse Gymnasium. The performance is free and no tickets are required.

The informal dance concert is a showcase performance by students in the ballet, modern, jazz, tap, musical theatre dance, and improvisation classes.

Hinkhouse Center is on College Street immediately south of Reeves Hall. Parking is available in the lot to the west of Hinkhouse, which is accessible off of Tower Street.
