Jerry W. Hartline
Jerry W. Hartline, 69, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at his home in Nevada. He was born June 1, 1941, in Walker, Mo., to William I.S. Hartline and Gertie F. Cartwright Hartline.
Jerry served on the U.S.S. Coral Sea Aircraft Carrier off the coasts of Australia, the Philippines and Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict. Following the service, he resided in California and came to Nevada in the early 1970s. He worked for the Sears Company and Nevada Ford for years. He was a past member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge and the American Legion.
Survivors include one son, Jerry W. Hartline Jr. and his wife, Dana, St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Winniferd Hartline and Tonya Hartline; one brother, Jack B. Hartline and his wife, Linda, Nevada; two sisters, Sue Malcom, Joplin, Mo., and Betty Jackson, San Jose, Calif.; one stepbrother, Shelby Bumgardner, Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Hartline; his mother and stepfather, Gertie and Ken Bumgardner; one brother, Bill; and one sister, Virda Hartline.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 6, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. David Rorabaugh officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery, Vernon County, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, May 4, at the funeral home.
