Tennis season wraps up today

The Nevada Tigers tennis team will close out their regular season with a trip to Clinton today which will give them an opportunity to see how they will stack up with one of their district opponents.

And on Monday the number three seeded Nevada Tigers will host sixth seeded Grandview at 4:30 p.m. in the opening round of the Class 1, District 12 tournament.

The number four seeded Harrisonville team will host fifth seeded Knob Noster on Monday.

Nevada's tennis coach Clayton Wheeler said Wednesday afternoon that he thinks they have an opportunity to well in both the team and singles district tournaments.

If Nevada wins they will play the second seeded Clinton Cardinals in Clinton at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday. The Cardinals and the number one seeded Warrensburg Tigers both received byes in the first round of district play. Warrensburg will host the winner of the Harrisonville-Knob Noster game on Tuesday

The team championship game will be at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the higher seeded school.

The District 12 singles tournament will be Saturday at Warrensburg.
