Zethah Lavon McBratney

Zethah Lavon McBratney, 92, Nevada, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Christian Health Care in Nevada. She was born Feb. 1, 1919, in Neodesha, Kan., to Ernest Sterling McNeil and Fern Lavon Kingrey McNeil. She was married Sept. 21, 1941, to Elvin "Mac" William McBratney, and he preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1993.

Mrs. McBratney and her husband moved from Nevada to Muncie, Ind. She worked for four years as a Registry of Medical Technologists of the American Society of Clinical Pathologist's. She was a civil service employee, working a total of seven years at the Muncie, Ind., Draft Board, and later for the Office of Personnel Management giving tests to the young men going into different branches of the service. In October 1993, she moved back to Nevada, Mo., to be close to family and friends.

In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by one brother, Max Daniel McNeil.

A private graveside service will be held at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
