Council to conduct work session today
The Nevada City Council will conduct a work session on the 2010 audit at 6 p.m., today, followed by a regular meeting at 7 p.m., in the council chambers, in the Public Safety Building, 120 S. Ash Street.
Among the items on the agenda for the regular meeting will be the first reading of a general ordinance amending Chapter 37 of the city code to allow adult day care facilities in areas zoned C-3.
The council will also conduct a public hearing prior to considering the first reading of a special ordinance approving a utility easement at the Twin Lakes Sports Complex as requested by the city of Nevada to install electric service to the new ball fields at the sports complex.
Other items on the agenda include Resolution No. 1323 approving the revised 2011 substance abuse policy for public transportation providers and Resolution No. 1324, approving a license to sell beer in the original package for C-Store Operations South LLC, which is formerly Nevada Fuel Mart.
The council will also be considering the second reading of a special ordinance approving a bid from Trout Beeman & Company for consulting services and a special ordinance approving the bid from Tyler Technologies for training for the finance department on the Incode System.
Additionally the council will be considering three appointments to boards: Tina Werner to a three-year term on the parks board; Kelly Stevens to a three-year term on the library board and Lois Crow to a four-year term to the housing authority board.
