Swine show lineup dominates Thursday at the fair

Kim Brock, the swine herd manager and animal sciences coordinator for Oklahoma State University and judge of the 2011 Vernon County Youth Fair takes a good look at the Berkshire pig shown by Lizzie Smith before awarding her animal the grand champion title for the on-foot judging portion of the swine show, which took place in the pavilion of the Centennial Park fairgrounds in Nevada on Thursday. The reserve grand champion ribbon went to Courtney Smith and her Berkshire.

The Peewee Swine Showmanship class is a bit chaotic with swine and kids and helpers going in every direction, Thursday. All of the young exhibitors received a ribbon and a round of applause from the crowd.
