Last chance for Lemonade Lednesday

Living Out Loud -- a student group from Nevada High School, will be hosting its final Lemonade Lednesday on the southside of the courthouse lawn today, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.. Ice cold lemonade (pink or yellow) will be sold for $1 a cup with refills for $.50. A homemade apple pie made by Janell Hawks' mom, Joy, will be auctioned off at 1:30. All proceeds benefit the group, which plans fun, drug-free activities for their peers.

I applaud the city for not shutting the kids down. Other cities are putting a stop to it. The police chief in one Texas town personally close a stand down by herself because the kids did not have a $50 permit to sell. This has happened in other places as well across the country. I am proud of Nevada for letting the kids do this.
